Indications
- Treatment of onychomycosis of toenail or fingernail
- Treatment of Tinea Capitis
- Fungal infection of skin caused by specific microorganisms
Pharmacology
- Terbinafine inhibits biosynthesis of Ergosterol
- Results in fungal cell death via increased membrane permeability
- Active against Tricophyton Mentagrophyte and Trichophyton Rubrum
Dosage & Administration
- Daily tablet dosage for fingernail and toenail onychomycosis
- Granules dosage based on body weight
- Cream application frequency and area specific instructions
- Spray application frequency and indication-specific duration
Interaction
- Inhibitor of CYP450 2D6 isozyme
- Potential interaction with specific drug classes
Contraindications
- Contra-indicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to terbinafine
