Indications
- Prevention of post-operative infections due to anaerobic bacteria
- Treatment of septicaemia, bacteraemia, peritonitis, brain abscess, pelvic abscess, pelvic cellulitis, and post-operative wound infections caused by anaerobes
- Treatment of urogenital trichomoniasis
- Management of bacterial vaginosis
- Effective against all forms of amoebiasis
- Treats giardiasis and acute ulcerative gingivitis

Interaction
- Potential interaction with disulfiram, alcohol, oral anticoagulant therapy, lithium, cyclosporin, phenytoin or phenobarbital, 5-fluorouracil, busulfan
- Requires close monitoring when co-administered
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Metronidazole or other Nitroimidazole derivatives
