Description
Benmet 200 mg/5 ml Suspension is indicated for the prevention and treatment of post-operative infections, septicaemia, peritonitis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, gingivitis, anaerobic infections, antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis, and more. It functions by preventing the growth of bacteria and parasites and is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to metronidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives. It has a therapeutic class of amoebicides, anti-diarrhoeal antiprotozoal and is recommended to be stored below 30°C, protected from light, and out of reach of children. Pregnant and nursing women should exercise caution when using this product, and special precautions are advised for patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
