Description
- Used for treatment & prevention of post-operative infections, septicaemia, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, gingivitis, leg ulcers, pressure sores, dental infections, pseudomembranus colitis
Pharmacology
- Belongs to the imidazole class of antibacterial drugs
- Classified therapeutically as an antiprotozoal agent
- Interacts with DNA to provide bactericidal action
