- Giardiasis
- Acute ulcerative gingivitis
- Anaerobically infected leg ulcers and pressure sores
- Acute dental infections

ModeOfAction
Reduction of 5-nitro group by anaerobes metabolically, interaction with DNA, bactericidal action
Interaction
- Disulfiram: Psychotic reactions reported when used concurrently
- Alcohol: Avoid consumption during therapy and for at least one day afterwards
- Warfarin: Potentiation of anticoagulant effect
- Lithium: Increased plasma levels
- Phenytoin or phenobarbital: Increased elimination of Decagyl
- 5-Fluorouracil: Reduced clearance resulting in increased toxicity
- Busulfan: Increased plasma levels
