- Bacterial vaginosis
- Amoebiasis (intestinal, extra-intestinal disease, symptomless cyst passers)
- Giardiasis
- Acute ulcerative gingivitis
- Anaerobically infected leg ulcers, pressure sores
- Acute dental infections due to anaerobic organisms
- Antibiotic associated pseudomembranus colitis

- Member of the imidazole class of antibacterial drug
- Antiprotozoal agent
- 5-nitro group is reduced by anaerobes metabolically

- Tablet and Suspension for trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, gingivitis, bacterial vaginosis, leg ulcers, pressure sores, anaerobic infections, surgical prophylaxis
- Vaginal Gel
- Suppository for anaerobic infections, surgical prophylaxis
- IV Infusion for adults and children over 12 years, under 12 years
