Description
- Kilpro is indicated in the treatment of various infections caused by anaerobic bacteria, protozoa, and other organisms.
Indications
- Prevention of post-operative infections
- Treatment of septicaemia and peritonitis
- Urogenital trichomoniasis treatment
- Treatment of bacterial vaginosis and amoebiasis
- Treatment of giardiasis and acute ulcerative gingivitis
Pharmacology
- Member of the imidazole class of antibacterial drug
- Antiprotozoal agent
- Interacts with DNA and provides bactericidal action
Dosage & Administration
- Different dosages for trichomoniasis, intestinal amoebiasis, extra-intestinal amoebiasis, giardiasis, acute ulcerative gingivitis, acute dental infections, bacterial vaginosis, leg ulcers and pressure sores, anaerobic infections, and surgical prophylaxis
Interaction
- Interactions with disulfiram, alcohol, oral anticoagulants, lithium, cyclosporin, phenytoin or phenobarbital, 5-fluorouracil, and busulfan
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Metronidazole or other Nitroimidazole derivatives
