Interaction

  • Disulfiram concurrent use leads to psychotic reactions
  • Avoid alcohol consumption during therapy and for at least one day afterwards
  • Potentiation of oral anticoagulant therapy (warfarin type)
  • Increased plasma levels of lithium with Metronidazole
  • Closely monitor serum cyclosporin and serum creatinine in co-administration
  • Increased elimination of Metronidazole with phenytoin or phenobarbital use
  • Reduced clearance and increased toxicity of 5-fluorouracil
  • Increased plasma levels of busulfan may lead to severe toxicity
