A single 2g oral dose with food

A single 2g dose with food
Giardiasis Dosage Pediatric
A single dose of 50 mg/kg (up to 2g) with food
Amebiasis Intestinal Dosage Adult
2g per day for 3 days with food
Amebiasis Intestinal Dosage Pediatric
50 mg/kg/day (up to 2g per day) for 3 days with food
Amebic Liver Abscess Dosage Adult
2g per day for 3-5 days with food
Amebic Liver Abscess Dosage Pediatric
50 mg/kg/day (up to 2g per day) for 3-5 days with food
Bacterial Vaginosis Dosage Non Pregnant Adult
- 2g once daily for 2 days with food
- 1g once daily for 5 days with food
Administration Instructions
Should be taken with food, during or immediately after meals
Pharmacology
Active against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria, damages DNA strands or inhibits DNA synthesis
Interaction Alcohol
Avoid during use and for 3 days afterward
Interaction Anticoagulants
May increase anticoagulant effects
Interaction Cyclosporine
May elevate levels, increasing risk of toxicity
Interaction Drugs inducing CYP3A4
May increase metabolism of T-zol
Contraindications
- Patients with blood dyscrasias
- Organic neurological disorders
- Known hypersensitivity to the compound
