Indications
- Treatment of infections by gastrointestinal worm species
- Indicated for roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, whipworm, threadworm
- Fast-acting drug paralyzes nematode musculature
- Ejection of worms within 24 hours of administration
Pharmacology
- Active ingredient: Levamisole
- Paralyzes susceptible intestinal worms

Dosage & Administration
- Single administration after a light meal
- Age-specific dosages and syrup equivalents
- Second dose for severe hookworm infection
Interaction
- May increase phenytoin toxicity
- Increases ivermectin bioavailability
- Decreases albendazole bioavailability
- Alcohol causes disulfiram-like reaction
Contraindications
- No absolute contra-indication to the use of Levamisole
