Indications

• Fast-acting on nematode nerve ganglia
• Paralyzes worm's musculature
• Ejects worms within 24 hours

Pharmacology

• Active ingredient: Levamisole
• Works by paralyzing intestinal worms
• Enhances cellular immune responses in humans

Dosage & Administration

• Second dose for severe hookworm infection

Interaction

• May increase phenytoin toxicity
• Increases bioavailability of ivermectin
• Decreases bioavailability of albendazole
• Alcohol causes disulfiram-like reaction

Contraindications
