Indications
- Treatment of threadworms
- Treatment of whipworms

Pharmacology
- Broad-spectrum anthelmintic
- Active against most nematodes
- Inhibits formation of worms' microtubules
- Causes worms' glucose depletion
- Oral administration
- Peak plasma concentration
Dosage & Administration
- 100 mg for threadworms
- 100 mg for whipworms, roundworms, hookworms
- Twice daily for 3 days
- Reinfection dose after 2 weeks
Interaction
- Cimetidine inhibits Seemox metabolism
- May increase plasma concentration
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Mebendazole
- Known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
Side Effects
- Transient abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea in case of massive infection
- Expulsion of worms
- Rash
- Urticaria
- Angioedema
- Convulsions
- Neutropenia
- Agranulocytosis
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended in pregnant women
- Unknown excretion in human milk
- Caution in nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Periodic assessment of organ system functions
- Assessment of haematopoietic and hepatic functions
- Potential risk to the foetus in women taking Seemox during pregnancy
- Cleanliness important to prevent reinfection & transmission of the infection
Use in Special Populations
- Not extensively studied in children under two years
- Consider relative benefit/risk in treatment of children under two years

- Vomiting and purging if accidental overdosage
