Indications

  • Prophylaxis against arterial occlusive events
  • Mild to moderate pain
  • Chronic disease accompanied by pain and inflammation
  • Antipyretic

Pharmacology

Decreases platelet aggregation, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic

Dosage & Administration

  • Pain, inflammatory diseases and as antipyretic
  • Suspected acute coronary syndrome
  • After myocardial infarction
  • Acute ischaemic stroke/Transient ischaemic stroke (TIA)
  • Following bypass surgery

Interaction

Enhances effect of anticoagulants, inhibits uricosuric effect of probenecid, may precipitate bronchospasm or induce asthma attacks

Contraindications

Children less than 12 years, breast-feeding, active peptic ulcer, bleeding due to haemophilia, intracranial haemorrhage, other ulceration

Side Effects

Nausea, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal ulceration, bronchospasm

Pregnancy & Lactation

Avoid during the last 3 months of pregnancy, use with caution in lactating mothers

Precautions & Warnings

Administer cautiously in asthma, uncontrolled blood pressure, pregnant women, nasal polyp, and nasal allergy

Overdose Effects

Dizziness, tinnitus, sweating, nausea, vomiting, confusion, hyperventilation, CNS depression, coma, cardiovascular collapse, respiratory depression
