Indications
- Prophylaxis against arterial occlusive events
- Mild to moderate pain
- Chronic disease accompanied by pain and inflammation
- Antipyretic
Pharmacology
- Decreases platelet aggregation
- Inhibits thrombus formation
- Has analgesic properties
- Has anti-inflammatory properties
- Has antipyretic properties
- Reduces intestinal disturbance and gastrointestinal ulceration
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dosage for pain, inflammatory diseases, and as antipyretic
- Recommended dosage for suspected acute coronary syndrome
- Recommended dosage after myocardial infarction
- Recommended dosage for acute ischaemic stroke/Transient ischaemic stroke (TIA)
- Recommended dosage following bypass surgery
Interaction
- Enhances the effect of anticoagulants
- Enhances the effect of oral hypoglycaemic agents
- Enhances the effect of phenytoin and sodium valproate
- Inhibits the uricosuric effect of probenecid
- May increase the toxicity of sulphonamides
- May precipitate bronchospasm
- May induce attacks of asthma
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in children less than 12 years
- Contraindicated in breast-feeding
- Contraindicated in active peptic ulcer
- Contraindicated in bleeding due to haemophilia
- Contraindicated in intracranial haemorrhage
- Contraindicated in other ulceration

- Mild nausea
- Dyspepsia
- Gastrointestinal ulceration
- Bronchospasm
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Avoid use during the last 3 months of pregnancy
- May cause problems in the unborn child
- May cause complications during delivery
- Penetrates into breast milk
- Should be administered with caution to lactating mothers

- Administer cautiously in uncontrolled blood pressure
