Description
Cetadol is a medication used for fever, common cold and influenza, headache, toothache, earache, bodyache, myalgia, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea, sprains, colic pain, back pain, post-operative pain, postpartum pain, inflammatory pain, post vaccination pain, rheumatic & osteoarthritic pain, stiffness of joints.

- Dosage Instructions:
- Adults: 1-2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours up to a maximum of 4 gm daily
- Children (6-12 years): ½ to 1 tablet 3 to 4 times daily
- Extended Release Tablet: 2 tablets every 6 to 8 hours for adults & children over 12 years
- Suppository: 60-120 mg for children 3-12 months, 125-250 mg for children 1-5 years, 250-500 mg for children 6-12 years, 0.5-1 gm for adults & children over 12 years
- Paediatric Drop: 0.5-1.5 ml for children
- Tablet with Actizorb Technology: 1-2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours for adults & children over 12 years
- Interaction: Diminished ability with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol; increased hepatotoxicity with chronic alcohol ingestion and anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives
- Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol
- Side Effects:
- Mild side effects, haematological reactions, pancreatitis, skin rashes, allergic reactions
- Pregnancy & Lactation: Epidemiological studies show no ill effects in recommended dosage; excreted in breast milk in non-clinically significant amount
- Precautions & Warnings: Care advised for severe renal or hepatic impairment, non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease, avoidance of concurrent use with other Cetadol-containing products
- Overdose Effects: Liver damage possible, symptoms include pallor, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, hepatic failure, acute renal failure, cardiac arrhythmias, management with activated charcoal and N-acetylcysteine
- Therapeutic Class: Non opioid analgesics
- Storage Conditions: Keep in dry place away from light and heat, out of reach of children
