Interaction
- Diminished ability to metabolize with barbiturates

- Chronic ingestion of oral steroid contraceptives inducing liver enzymes
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol

- Haematological reactions (thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, agranulocytosis)
- Pancreatitis
- Skin rashes
- Allergic reactions
Pregnancy lactation
- No ill effects observed in human pregnancy
- Excreted in breast milk in clinically insignificant amount
Precautions warnings
- Administration to patients with severe renal impairment
- Administration to patients with severe hepatic impairment
- Hazard of overdose in non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease
- Advisory not to exceed the stated dose
- Advisory not to take other Paracetamol-containing products concurrently
- Use by the prescribed patient when necessary
Overdose effects
- Possibility of liver damage in adults with high dosage
- Symptoms of overdose in the first 24 hours
- Abnormalities of glucose metabolism
- Metabolic acidosis
- Hepatic failure
- Acute renal failure
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Pancreatitis
- Immediate treatment with activated charcoal
- Measurement of plasma Paracetamol concentration
- Treatment with N-acetylcysteine
- Possibility of decline in effectiveness of the antidote after 8 hours post-ingestion
