Description
- Fast-acting analgesic and antipyretic medication
- Indicated for fever, common cold, influenza, headache, toothache, bodyache, myalgia, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea, sprains, colic pain, back pain, post-operative pain, postpartum pain, inflammatory pain, rheumatic & osteoarthritic pain, stiffness of joints
- Contains Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) with analgesic and antipyretic properties
- Dosage forms include Tablets, Extended Release Tablets, Syrup/Suspension, Suppository, Paediatric Drop, and Paracetamol tablet with actizorb technology
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol
- Side effects may include haematological reactions, pancreatitis, skin rashes, allergic reactions
- Should be used with caution in patients with severe renal or severe hepatic impairment
- Overdose may lead to liver damage with symptoms of pallor, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abnormalities of glucose metabolism, metabolic acidosis, and hepatic failure

Dosage & Administration
- Adult: 1-2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours up to a maximum of 4 gm (8 tablets) daily
- Children (6-12 years): ½ to 1 tablet 3 to 4 times daily
- Children under 3 months: 10 mg/kg body weight 3 to 4 times daily
- Suppository for different age groups
- Paracetamol tablet with actizorb technology dosing for adults and children (aged 12 years and over)
Interaction
- Diminished ability to metabolize large doses with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol
- Alcohol may increase hepatotoxicity of Tydenol overdosage
- Chronic ingestion of anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives may prevent attainment of therapeutic Tydenol levels
