Pharmacology

Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties
Caffeine increases solubility and transmembrane permeation of Paracetamol
Caffeine raises vessel tone in the brain
Caffeine increases pain threshold and tolerance of pain

Dosage administration

Adult dose: 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours
Maximum adult dose: 8 tablets daily
Not recommended for children below 12 years

Interaction

May reduce serum levels with anticonvulsants
May enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin
Accelerated absorption with metoclopramide
May reduce absorption with colestyramine, severe hypothermia with phenothiazine

Contraindications

Severe renal function impairment
Hepatic disease (Viral Hepatitis)
Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol or Caffeine
