Pharmacology
Combination of Paracetamol and Caffeine, with analgesic, antipyretic, weak anti-inflammatory, and pain tolerance properties
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours
- Maximum dose: 8 tablets daily
- Child dose: Not recommended for children below 12 years
Interaction
May interact with anticonvulsants, anticoagulants, metoclopramide, domperidone, probenecid, chloramphenicol, and colestyramine
Contraindications
Contraindicated in severe renal function impairment, hepatic disease, and known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or caffeine
Side Effects
Mild side effects including haematological reactions, pancreatitis, skin rashes, and allergic reactions
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnant mothers should consult doctors before use, can be taken while breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
Use cautiously in hepatic or renal failure, with other hepatotoxic medication, and avoid prolonged use without consulting a physician
Overdose Effects
Symptoms of overdose include pallor, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, liver damage, abnormalities of glucose metabolism, and metabolic acidosis
