Description

  • Pyrex T Combination Tablet for managing moderate to moderately severe pain in adults and short-term management of acute pain.

Dosage & Administration

  • Dosage: 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours for moderate to moderately severe pain. Maximum of 8 tablets per day.
  • Dosage: 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours for short-term management of acute pain. Maximum of 8 tablets per day.
  • Can be administered without regard to food.

Contraindications

  • Not to be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to tramadol, paracetamol, or opioids.

Pharmacology

  • Paracetamol has analgesic, antipyretic properties, weak anti-inflammatory activity. Tramadol is a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic.

Mode of Action

  • Paracetamol increases pain threshold by inhibiting COX-1, COX-2, COX-3 enzymes. Tramadol binds to μ-opioid receptors and inhibits norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake.

Side Effects

  • Adverse reactions may include asthenia, fatigue, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, insomnia, rash, increased sweating, etc.

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Pregnancy Category C. Use during pregnancy only if benefit justifies potential risk. Not recommended for nursing mothers.

Precautions & Warnings

  • May impair mental or physical abilities. Avoid alcohol-containing beverages. Use with caution with other tramadol or paracetamol-containing products. Use with caution when taking tranquilizers, hypnotics, or other opiate-containing analgesics.

Use in Special Populations

  • Pediatric use not studied. Caution in geriatric patients. Not studied in renal and hepatic impaired patients.
