Description

Pharmacology
- Inhibition of peripheral actions of serotonin and histamine
- Increase in membrane permeability of cranial vessels
- Transudation of plasmakinin

- Attenuation of serotonin signalling causing cranial vasoconstriction
- Inhibition of serotonin reuptake by blood platelets
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage - 1.5 mg daily, up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily
- Children dosage - Up to 1.5 mg daily, up to 1 mg as a single dose at night
Interactions
- Enhanced effects with sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
- Antagonism of hypotensive effect of adrenergic neurone blockers

- Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
