Indications

• Treatment of acute and chronic inflammations of the mucosas of the mouth, gums, and throat

Composition

• Rhubarb extract BP 0.05 gm
• Salicylic acid BP 0.01 gm

Description

• Anti-inflammatory action

Pharmacology

• Salicylic acid blocks the action of cyclo-oxygenase
• Anthraquinone glycosides relieve inflammation
• Well absorption into oral mucosa

Dosage & Administration

• To be applied to the inflamed oral mucosa 3 to 4 times daily
• Avoid rinsing the mouth or eating for 15 minutes after application
• Keep the cap closed immediately after every use

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any of the constituents

Side Effects

• Transient local burning sensation at the site of application
• Temporary discoloration of teeth or oral mucosa

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Caution should be exercised when prescribing to pregnant women
• Decide whether to continue breast feeding or therapy with the oral solution considering the benefits to the child and woman
