Pharmacology
- Methyl salicylate and Menthol cream
- Fast relief from pain and stiffness
- Fast-acting
- Penetrates deep into skin
- Inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins
- Increases penetration of drugs
- Provides long-lasting relief
Dosage & Administration
- For adults and children 2 years of age and older
- Apply thin layer to affected area
- Gently massage until cream disappears
- Apply not more than 3 to 4 times daily
Interaction
- Systemic absorption of Methyl Salicylate
- May increase Warfarin action
- Affects Vitamin K metabolism
- May displace warfarin from protein-binding sites
Contraindications
- Allergy to salicylate or sensitivity to any components
- Contraindicated for broken skin or raw surfaces

- Discontinue use in case of excessive skin irritation
- Do not use for more than 10 days
- Call a physician in specific conditions
Overdose Effects
- Topical application may cause absorption through skin
- May cause salicylism
- Symptoms include tinnitus, hearing loss, nausea, vomiting
