Composition

  • Cream:
    • Methyl Salicylate BP 300 mg
    • Menthol BP 100 mg
    • Camphor BP 40 mg
  • Nasal Inhaler Stick:
    • Wintergreen oil (as Methyl salicylate) 122.70 mg
    • Mentha Piperita (as Menthol) 415.40 mg
    • Cinnamomum Camphora (as Camphor) 415.40 mg

Pharmacology

  • Cream:
    • Camphor spasmolytic action on smooth muscle
    • Menthol cooling and soothing effect
    • Methyl Salicylate inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzyme
  • Nasal Inhaler Stick:
    • Menthol decongestant
    • Camphor decongestant and cough suppressant
    • Wintergreen Oil germ removal and illness relief

Dosage & Administration

  • Cream: Apply generously to the painful area and gently massage until the cream disappears. Apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily.
  • Nasal Inhaler Stick: Used by inserting the inhaler into each nostril, holding the other nostril closed and inhaling deeply. It can be used as frequently as needed.

Interaction

Methyl Salicylate may increase Warfarin action

Contraindications

  • Cream:
    • Bleeding disorders
    • Allergy to Salicylate
    • Sensitivity to any of the components
    • Application to broken skin or raw surfaces
  • Nasal Inhaler Stick: Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age

Side Effects

  • Cream: Temporary burning, stinging, dryness in the nose, sneezing may occur

Pregnancy & Lactation

This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings

For external use only. Use only as directed. Do not use with a heating pad. Keep away from children to avoid accidental poisoning. Do not use tight bandage. Do not swallow. If swallowed, induce vomiting and call a physician. Keep away from eyes, mucous membranes, broken or irritated skin. Long term and excess administration may cause skin irritation and redness
