Indications
- Relief of symptoms of osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoidal disorder treatment

Pharmacology
- Active ingredient: Dexibuprofen (S (+)-ibuprofen)
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug
- Analgesic action
- Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis
- Absorption primarily from the small intestine
- Metabolic transformation in the liver
- Plasma protein binding: about 99%
- Maximum plasma levels reached in about 2 hours after oral administration
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage adjusted to seriousness of the syndrome
- Adaptation of dosage during chronic pain
- Recommended dosage: 600-900 mg Dexibuprofen per day
- Temporary raise of dosage up to 1200 mg per day for acute disorders
- Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg
- Dysmenorrhea dosage: 600-900 mg per day
Interaction
- Simultaneous use with anticoagulant, hydantoin, sulfonamide, ticlopidine, lithium, other NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, corticosteroids, digoxin, methotrexate, pentoxyfiline, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazon, sulfonylurea, thiazide and thiazide type diuretics, and zidovudine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Dexibuprofen or another NSAID
- Previous asthma attack, bronchospasm, rhinitis, urticaria, or edema after use of similar drugs
- Active or suspected hemorrhage
- Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
- Serious heart diseases
- Kidney function impairment (GFR <30ml/min)
- Liver function impairment

Overdose Effects
- Low acute toxicities
- Symptoms occur at doses between 80 and 100 mg/kg body weight
- Mild to serious symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, headache, tinnitus, ataxia, flatulence, hypotension, hypothermia, metabolic acidosis, reduced kidney function, coma, apnea
- Symptomatic treatment with no specific antidote
- Administration of activated charcoal
- Limitations of vomiting induction and dialysis/hemodialysis
