Indications
- Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis

Pharmacology
Dexibuprofen is the pharmacologically active enantiomer of racemic ibuprofen with analgesic and anti-inflammatory action; it is absorbed primarily from the small intestine and metabolized in the liver, with an elimination half-life of 1.8-3.5 hours.
Dosage & Administration
Recommended dosage is 600-900 mg per day, at 2-3 divided doses, temporary increase to 1200 mg per day is permissible in acute disorders

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Dexibuprofen

Use in Special Populations
- Hepatic Impairment: Start with low amounts and closely monitor
- Renal Impairment: Start amount must be reduced in mild to moderate impairments
- Children Dose: Not licensed for use in children under 18 years of age in the UK; in some countries, it has been given to children aged 6 years and over
- Elderly People: Lowest effective dose recommended
Overdose Effects
Symptomatic treatment is recommended; activated charcoal and induced vomiting may be necessary in severe cases
