Dosage administration

  • - Diclofenac FC Tablet: Adults - 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food.
  • - Diclofenac SR Tablet: Adults - 1 tablet daily, taken whole with liquid, preferably at meal times. Dose for children is 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body wt. daily in divided doses.
  • - Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet: Adults - 2-3 tablets daily with a maximum daily dose of 150 mg. Dose for children is 1-3 mg/kg body weight.
  • - Diclofenac TR Capsule: One capsule daily, preferably after mealtimes.
  • - Diclofenac Suppository: For adults - 50 mg suppository 2-3 times daily with a maximum daily dose of 150 mg.
  • - Diclofenac injection: For adults - 1 ampoule daily, may be increased to 2 ampoules daily in serious cases.
  • - Diclofenac Gel: For external use only. 2-4 g should be applied to the skin 3-4 times daily.

Interaction

  • May have interactions with lithium, digoxin, anticoagulants, antidiabetic agents, cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antimicrobials, other NSAIDs, and steroids.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product, peptic ulcer, asthma patients with sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other drugs with prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor, and use under occlusive airtight dressings

Side effects

  • Mild, rare, and transient adverse effects such as epigastric pain, eructation, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, peripheral edema, skin reactions, irritation, reddening of the skin, and skin rash

Pregnancy lactation

  • Use only for compelling reasons during pregnancy, lowest effective dose should be used, not recommended during the first trimester, and should be cautious during lactation due to its detection in breast milk

Precautions warnings

  • Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding, not to come in contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, and should not be taken by mouth

  • Store in a cool and dry place, below 30°C and protected from light, keep out of reach of children
