Dosage & Administration

  • 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses for adults
  • Dose reduction in long term use
  • Recommended dosage for Diclofenac FC Tablet, SR Tablet, Dispersible Tablet, TR Capsule, Suppository, injection, and Gel
  • Maximum daily doses for various formulations
  • Specific dosage for children and elderly patients

Interaction

  • Potential drug interactions with lithium and digoxin
  • Increased risk of haemorrhage with anticoagulants
  • Safe use with oral antidiabetic agents
  • Potential nephrotoxicity with cyclosporin
  • Cases of serious toxicity with methotrexate and NSAIDs
  • Potential convulsions with quinolone antimicrobials
  • Caution with concomitant therapy of NSAID and quinolones
  • Potential increase in unwanted effects with other NSAIDs and steroids

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
  • Peptic ulcer
  • Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents
  • Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients

  • Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Close observation for patients with advanced age
  • Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes
  • Avoid oral consumption
