Description
- Description: A-Fenac is a medicine used for the relief of pain and inflammation in various medical conditions including rheumatism, arthritis, trauma, gynecological disorders, surgical interventions, and more. It contains diclofenac sodium, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-rheumatic, analgesic, and antipyretic properties.
Dosage and Administration
- Diclofenac FC Tablet Adult Dosage: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food
- Diclofenac SR Tablet Adult Dosage: 1 tablet daily, taken whole with liquid, preferably at meal times
- Diclofenac SR Tablet Children Dosage: 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body wt. daily in divided doses
- Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet Adult Dosage: 2-3 tablets daily, maximum daily dose is 150 mg
- Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet Children Dosage: 1-3 mg/kg body weight, to be dropped into a half-glass of water
- Diclofenac TR Capsule Dosage: One capsule daily, preferably after mealtimes
- Diclofenac Suppository Adult Dosage: 50 mg suppository 2-3 times daily, maximum daily dose is 150 mg
- Diclofenac Injection Dosage: 1 ampoule daily, may be increased up to 2 ampoules daily in serious cases
- Diclofenac Gel Dosage: 2-4 g should be applied to the skin 3-4 times daily, depending on the size of the affected area

Contraindications
- Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac
- Asthmatic patient with precipitated attacks
- Not to be used under occlusive airtight dressings

Pregnancy and Lactation

- Peptic Ulceration: In rare instances where peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding occurs
- Advanced Age Patients: Keep under close observation
- A-Fenac Gel Application: Should not come in contact with eyes or mucus membranes, hands should be washed properly after application, not to be taken by mouth
