Interaction

  • Isolated reports of increased risk of haemorrhage with combined use of diclofenac and anticoagulant therapy

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
  • Peptic ulcer
  • Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other NSAIDs
  • Contra-indicated in certain asthmatic patients

Side Effects

  • Mild, rare, and transient adverse effects
  • Possible initial side effects: epigastric pain, eructation, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache
  • Peripheral edema
  • Skin reactions such as rash and eczema
  • Local irritation and reddening of the skin from Gel

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Use only for compelling reasons during pregnancy
  • Lowest effective dose should be used during pregnancy
  • Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy
  • Not recommended during pregnancy for Diclofenac Sodium Gel
  • Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk with no expected undesirable effects on the infant

Precautions & Warnings

  • Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Care to avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes
  • Hand washing after Gel application
  • Avoid oral ingestion
