Dosage and Administration

  • Adults: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food
  • Dose reduction in long term use
  • Dosing dependent on tablet type: FC, SR, Dispersible, TR
  • Suppository dosage for adults: 50 mg 2-3 times daily
  • Gel application: 3-4 times daily to affected area

Interaction

  • Potential drug interactions with lithium, digoxin, anticoagulants, antidiabetic agents, cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antimicrobials, other NSAIDs, and steroids

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the products
  • Peptic ulcer
  • Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents
  • Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients with specific reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or other prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors
  • Avoid use under occlusive airtight dressings

  • Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk with no expected undesirable effects on the infant

Precautions and Warnings

  • Close observation in instances of peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Special caution in advanced age patients
  • Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes
  • Proper hand washing after application
  • Avoid oral ingestion
