Dosage and Administration
- Adults: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food
- Dose reduction in long term use
- Dosing dependent on tablet type: FC, SR, Dispersible, TR
- Suppository dosage for adults: 50 mg 2-3 times daily
- Gel application: 3-4 times daily to affected area
Interaction
- Potential drug interactions with lithium, digoxin, anticoagulants, antidiabetic agents, cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antimicrobials, other NSAIDs, and steroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the products
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents
- Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients with specific reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or other prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors
- Avoid use under occlusive airtight dressings

- Skin reactions like rash and eczema

Pregnancy and Lactation
- Use only for compelling reasons during pregnancy
- Lowest effective dose should be used
- Not recommended during the first trimester
- Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk with no expected undesirable effects on the infant
Precautions and Warnings
- Close observation in instances of peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Special caution in advanced age patients
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes
- Proper hand washing after application
- Avoid oral ingestion
