Pharmacological Properties
Potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, and uricosuric effects. Inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis.
Dosage Administration
- Adults: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food.
- Children dosage based on body weight and divided doses.
- Maximum daily dose for adults and children.
- Dosage for elderly or debilitated patients.
- Specific instructions for Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet and Suppository.
- Application and frequency for Diclofenac Gel.
Interactions
- Potential interactions with Lithium, digoxin, anticoagulants, antidiabetic agents, cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antimicrobials, other NSAIDs, and steroids.
- Cautions for concomitant therapy with NSAID and quinolones.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient, peptic ulcer, and contra-indicated in asthmatic patients triggered by acetylsalicylic acid or prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor.
