Indications

  • Inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism

Pharmacology

  • Anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties
  • Uricosuric effect
  • Inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis
  • Rapid and complete absorption from the gastro-intestinal tract
  • Metabolism in the liver

Dosage & Administration

  • Different dosage for Diclofenac FC Tablet, SR Tablet, Dispersible Tablet, TR Capsule, Suppository, Injection, and Gel
  • Recommended dosage for adults, children, and elderly patients
  • Instructions on administration with or after meals
  • Dosage adjustments for long-term use

Interaction

  • Potential drug interactions with lithium, digoxin, anticoagulants, antidiabetic agents, cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antimicrobials, other NSAIDs, and steroids
  • Caution with concomitant therapy of NSAID and quinolones

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the products
  • Contraindicated in peptic ulcer, asthmatic patients, and under occlusive airtight dressings

Side Effects

  • Mild, rare, and transient adverse effects
  • Epigastric pain, eructation, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, peripheral edema, skin reactions, local irritation, reddening of the skin, and skin rash

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Recommended only for compelling reasons during pregnancy
  • Lowest effective dose should be used
  • Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy
  • Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk

Precautions & Warnings

  • Close observation in patients with peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Prevent contact with eyes or mucus membranes
  • Proper hand washing after application
