- Peak plasma concentrations reached within an average of 2 hours after ingestion

Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses
- Dose reduction in long term use
- Children dosage: 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Elderly patients: Lowest effective dosage recommended
- Maximum daily dosage: 150 mg
- Diclofenac gel application: 2-4 g to the skin 3-4 times daily
Interaction
- Increased plasma concentrations of lithium and digoxin
- Risk of haemorrhage with anticoagulant therapy
- No influence on antidiabetic agents' clinical effect
- Cases of nephrotoxicity with concomitant use of cyclosporin
- Serious toxicity when used with methotrexate
- Potential convulsions due to an interaction with quinolone antimicrobials
- Increased frequency of unwanted effects when co-administered with other NSAIDs and steroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents
- Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients

- Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Keep out of contact with eyes or mucus membranes
- Proper hand hygiene after application
- Not to be taken by mouth
