Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food
- Children: 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body wt. daily in divided doses
- Elderly patients: Lowest effective dosage is recommended
Pharmacology
Potent NSAID with anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties
Mode of Action
Inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis causing inflammation, pain and fever
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Peptic ulcer
- Asthmatic patients precipitated by certain drugs

- Lithium and digoxin
- Anticoagulants
- Antidiabetic agents
- Cyclosporin
- Methotrexate
- Quinolone antimicrobials
- Other NSAIDs and steroids

Pregnancy & Lactation
Employed only for compelling reasons during pregnancy, not recommended during the first trimester

- Not to come in contact with eyes or mucus membranes
- Hands should be washed properly after application
