Interaction

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or local anaesthetics of the amide type
  • Active or suspected peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Attacks of asthma, urticaria, or acute rhinitis precipitated by Aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • Adams-Stokes syndrome or severe AV or intraventricular heart block in the absence of an artificial pacemaker
  • Hypersensitivity to any of the excipients used in the formulation

Side effects

Pregnancy

  • Lowest effective dosage should be used
  • Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy
  • Very small quantities may be detected in breast milk with no undesirable effects on the infant

Precautions

  • Close observation for patients with severe hepatic, cardiac, or renal insufficiency
  • Lowest effective dose and renal function monitoring recommended
  • Discontinue if abnormal liver function tests persist or worsen
  • Long term monitoring of renal, hepatic function, and blood counts for all patients receiving NSAIDs
