Pharmacology

Potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with pronounced anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties

Dosage & Administration

Diclofenac FC Tablet: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses, preferably after food
Diclofenac SR Tablet: 1 tablet daily for adults, 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body wt. daily in divided doses for children
Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet: 2-3 tablets for adults, 1-3 mg/kg body weight for children
Diclofenac TR Capsule: One capsule daily
Diclofenac Suppository: For adults: 50 mg suppository 2-3 times daily
Diclofenac injection: For adults the usual dose is 1 ampoule daily
Diclofenac Gel: 2-4 g applied to the skin 3-4 times daily

Pregnancy & Lactation

Should be employed only for compelling reasons, lowest effective dose should be used, not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, not recommended during lactation

Risk of peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
Close observation for advanced age patients
Avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes
Hands should be washed properly after application
