Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses
- Preferably after food
- Reduced dose for long term use
- Selection of appropriate tablet type as per patient's need
- Dosage adjustment for elderly and debilitated patients
- Dosage for children as per body weight
- Max daily dose of 150 mg
- Use of suppository and gel
Interaction
- Increased plasma concentrations of lithium and digoxin
- Risk of haemorrhage with anticoagulant therapy
- No influence on oral antidiabetic agents
- Nephrotoxicity with cyclosporin
- Serious toxicity with methotrexate
- Convulsions with quinolone antimicrobials
- Increased frequency of unwanted effects with other NSAIDs and steroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac
- Contra-indicated in asthmatic patient
- Not to be used under occlusive airtight dressings

- Close observation in cases of peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Close observation in advanced age
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes
- Proper hand washing after application
- No oral ingestion
