Potent, orally active cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) specific inhibitor
Inhibition of COX-2 decreases signs and symptoms of pain, inflammation, and fever with decreased potential for GI toxicity and effects on platelet aggregation

Recommended doses for Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and postoperative dental surgery pain
Shortest duration and lowest effective daily dose should be used
Patient's need for symptomatic relief and response to therapy should be re-evaluated periodically

Interaction with oral anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, Angiotensin II Antagonists, Acetylsalicylic Acid, Ciclosporin, tacrolimus, Lithium
Take without regards to meals

Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
Active peptic ulceration or active GI bleeding
Patients with certain allergic-type reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or NSAIDs including COX-2 inhibitors
Pregnancy, lactation, severe hepatic dysfunction, estimated renal creatinine clearance <30 ml/min, children and adolescents under 16 years of age, inflammatory bowel disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, established ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and/or cerebrovascular disease

Palpitation, fatigue, influenza-like symptoms, ecchymosis
Dry mouth, taste disturbance, mouth ulcer, appetite and weight change
Atrial fibrillation, transient ischaemic attack, chest pain, flushing, cough, dyspnoea, anxiety, mental acuity impaired, paraesthesia, electrolyte disturbance, myalgia, arthralgia
Rarely confusion and hallucinations

Caution in patients at risk of developing gastrointestinal complication with NSAIDs
Patients with significant risk factors for cardiovascular events should be treated with caution
Monitoring of renal function in patients with impaired renal function
Caution in patients with a history of cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, or hypertension, or edema
Monitoring of liver function in patients with symptoms and/or signs suggesting liver dysfunction
Discontinuation at the first appearance of hypersensitivity or skin rash
Caution when co-administering with warfarin or other oral anticoagulants

Single and multiple doses up to 500 mg and 150 mg/day respectively did not result in significant toxicity
Usual supportive measures in case of overdose
