- Inhibition of COX-2 decreases clinical signs and symptoms

- Dose-dependent inhibition of COX-2 without inhibition of COX-1
DosageAndAdministration
- 30 mg once daily for Osteoarthritis
- 90 mg once daily for Rheumatoid arthritis and Ankylosing spondylitis
- 120 mg once daily for Acute gouty arthritis
- Short-term treatment of moderate pain associated with dental surgery
- Additional postoperative analgesia may be required
- Need for symptomatic relief and response should be re-evaluated periodically
Interaction
- With oral anticoagulants
- With Diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and Angiotensin II Antagonists
- With Acetylsalicylic Acid
- With Ciclosporin and tacrolimus
- With Lithium
- Take without regards to meals
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Active peptic ulceration or GI bleeding
- Bronchospasm, acute rhinitis, nasal polyps, angioneurotic edema
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Severe hepatic dysfunction
- Estimated renal creatinine clearance
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Hypertension
- Established ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and/or cerebrovascular disease

- Single doses up to 500 mg and multiple doses up to 150 mg/day did not result in significant toxicity
