Pharmacology

- Potent COX-2 inhibitor

- Dose-dependent inhibition of COX-2
Dosage & Administration

Interaction
- Interaction with oral anticoagulants
- Effect on diuretics and antihypertensive drugs
- Concomitant use with acetylsalicylic acid for cardiovascular prophylaxis

- Caution with patients at risk of GI complications
- Treatment of patients with significant cardiovascular event risk
- Potential reduction in prostaglandin formation and renal blood flow
- Caution with patients having cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, or hypertension
- Monitoring for signs of liver dysfunction
- Discontinuation at the first appearance of hypersensitivity signs
- Caution with co-administration with warfarin or oral anticoagulants
Overdose Effects
- No significant toxicity observed at high doses
- Employment of supportive measures in case of overdose
