Etrib is indicated for the symptomatic relief of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and pain associated with dental surgery.
Etoricoxib is a COX-2 specific inhibitor that reduces clinical signs and symptoms of pain and inflammation with decreased potential for GI toxicity.
Dosage varies for different conditions and age groups. It should be used with caution in patients with gastrointestinal complications, cardiovascular risk factors, renal dysfunction, and liver dysfunction.
It has potential interactions with oral anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II antagonists, acetylsalicylic acid, ciclosporin, tacrolimus, and lithium.
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the active substance, active peptic ulceration, bronchospasm, pregnancy, lactation, severe hepatic dysfunction, and renal impairment.
Common side effects may include palpitation, fatigue, influenza-like symptoms, ecchymosis, dry mouth, taste disturbance, and transient ischemic attacks.
It is not recommended for use in women attempting to conceive and should not be used during lactation.
Storage conditions require it to be kept at a temperature below 30°C, protected from light and moisture, and out of reach of children.
