Description
Rito 90 mg Tablet is a selective COX-2 inhibitor indicated for the symptomatic relief of Osteoarthritis (OA), Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Ankylosing spondylitis and the pain and signs of inflammation associated with acute gouty arthritis. It also provides short-term treatment of moderate pain associated with dental surgery.

Technical specifications
- Pharmacology: Etoricoxib is a potent, orally active COX-2 specific inhibitor.
- Dosage & Administration: Adult dose for Osteoarthritis is 30 mg once daily, Rheumatoid arthritis 90 mg once daily, Ankylosing spondylitis 90 mg once daily, Acute gouty arthritis 120 mg once daily, and for dental surgery pain 90 mg once daily.
- Interaction: Interacts with oral anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, Angiotensin II Antagonists, Acetylsalicylic Acid, Ciclosporin, tacrolimus, and Lithium. Should be taken without regards to meals.
- Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, active peptic ulceration, active gastrointestinal bleeding, bronchospasm, acute rhinitis, nasal polyps, pregnancy, lactation, severe hepatic dysfunction, estimated renal creatinine clearance <30 ml/min, inflammatory bowel disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and cerebrovascular disease.
- Side Effects: May include palpitation, fatigue, influenza-like symptoms, ecchymosis, dry mouth, taste disturbance, etc.
- Pregnancy & Lactation: Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.
- Precautions & Warnings: Caution advised for patients at risk of gastrointestinal complication, with significant risk factors for cardiovascular events, with liver or kidney disease, with history of cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, or hypertension, and in patients with pre-existing edema, etc.
- Overdose Effects: Multiple doses up to 150 mg/day for 21 days did not result in significant toxicity. Usual supportive measures apply in case of overdose.
