Description

Recox 60 mg Tablet is a selective COX-2 inhibitor indicated for the symptomatic relief of Osteoarthritis (OA), Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and moderate pain associated with dental surgery. It is also used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery.

DosageAndAdministration

  • Osteoarthritis: 30 mg once daily, increased to 60 mg once daily if necessary
  • RheumatoidArthritis: 90 mg once daily
  • AnkylosingSpondylitis: 90 mg once daily
  • AcuteGoutyArthritis: 120 mg once daily for 8 days
  • PostoperativeDentalSurgeryPain: 90 mg once daily, maximum of 3 days

Pharmacology

  • Severe hepatic dysfunction, estimated renal creatinine clearance <30 ml/min
  • Inflammatory bowel disease, Congestive heart failure, Hypertension

  • Monitoring renal function, history of cardiac failure, edema, liver dysfunction
  • Discontinue at signs of hypersensitivity, caution with warfarin co-administration

No significant toxicity observed up to 500 mg single dose or 150 mg/day for 21 days
