Dosage & Administration
Adult dosage: Initial dose of 400 mg 3 times daily. Pediatric dosage based on age and body weight. Topical gel application for adults involves squeezing 4 to 10cm of gel on the affected area, not to be repeated more frequently than every four hours and no more than four times a day.
Contraindications
Patients with previous hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen and those with severe or active peptic ulceration should avoid using this product.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include upset stomach, vomiting, heartburn, and nausea.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Ibuprofen should not be used during pregnancy and for nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Precautions & Warnings
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal hemorrhage or ulcer, and long-term therapy requires ocular monitoring at regular intervals. Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus are more likely to develop hypersensitivity.
