Description
Reumacap is indicated in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, gout, and acute non-articular rheumatism. It belongs to the therapeutic class of drugs for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and NSAIDs.

Pharmacology
Indomethacin is an NSAID with antipyretic and analgesic effects, showing strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. It is absorbed promptly following oral administration with peak plasma levels occurring within 2 hours.
Dosage and administration
- 75 mg sustained-release capsule:
- Rheumatoid arthritis ankylosing spondylitis osteoarthritis: Initial dose: 75 mg once daily; severe cases may require twice daily
- Acute attacks of gout: May control with a dose of 75 mg twice daily
- Acute non-articular rheumatism: 1-2 capsules daily according to severity
- 25 mg capsule:
- Rheumatic diseases: 50-200 mg daily in divided doses
- Acute gout: 150-200 mg daily in divided doses
- Dysmenorrhea: Up to 75 mg daily

Side effects
- Common:
- Headaches
- Mild vertigo
- Transient symptoms: Disappear with continued use or dose reduction
- Rare cases:
- Mild psychic disturbances
- Gastrointestinal reactions like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric and abdominal pain
- Administration recommendation: Take capsule immediately after meals with an antacid to minimize frequency and severity of gastrointestinal effects
Precautions and warnings
- Caution use with:
- Psychiatric problems
- Epilepsy
- Parkinsonism
- Not recommended for:
- Pregnant women
- Neonates (except for closure of patent ductus arteriosus)
