Dosage Information
- Starting dose of 150 to 300 mg/day in 3 divided doses
- Maintenance dosage of usually 100 to 200 mg/day
- Maximum daily dose of 300 mg
- Usual recommended dose for pain and dysmenorrhea is 25 to 50 mg every 6 to 8 hours
- Total daily dose should not exceed 300 mg
Interaction
- Not recommended drug associations with other NSAIDs and high dose salicylates
- Increased risk of bleeding when coadministered with anticoagulants
- Risk of elevation of lithium plasma levels when coadministered with lithium
- Increased risk of haematologic toxicity of methotrexate at higher doses
- Enhanced risk of hyperkalemia when coadministered with certain medicinal products
Contraindications
- History of hypersensitivity reactions to ketoprofen, ASA, or other NSAIDs
- Severe heart failure
- Active or history of peptic ulcer/hemorrhage
- Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency
- Third trimester of pregnancy
- Rectitis or history of proctorrhagia
