          Dosage Information

          • Starting dose of 150 to 300 mg/day in 3 divided doses

          • Usual recommended dose for pain and dysmenorrhea is 25 to 50 mg every 6 to 8 hours
          • Total daily dose should not exceed 300 mg

          Interaction

          • Not recommended drug associations with other NSAIDs and high dose salicylates
          • Increased risk of bleeding when coadministered with anticoagulants
          • Risk of elevation of lithium plasma levels when coadministered with lithium
          • Increased risk of haematologic toxicity of methotrexate at higher doses
          • Enhanced risk of hyperkalemia when coadministered with certain medicinal products

          Contraindications

          • History of hypersensitivity reactions to ketoprofen, ASA, or other NSAIDs
          • Severe heart failure
          • Active or history of peptic ulcer/hemorrhage
          • Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency
          • Third trimester of pregnancy
          • Rectitis or history of proctorrhagia

          Overdose Effects

          • Symptoms limited to lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain

          • Recommendation for gastric lavage and supportive treatment
          • Possible use of hemodialysis in renal failure
