Indications

Dosage

  • Anti-inflammatory dosage
  • Management of pain and primary dysmenorrhea

Administration

  • Oral administration
  • To be taken with fluids
  • Preferably with food

Interaction

  • Not recommended drug associations
  • Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding with other NSAIDs
  • Risk of bleeding with anticoagulants
  • Risk of elevation of lithium plasma levels
  • Increased risk of haematologic toxicity with Methotrexate

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity reactions
  • Severe heart failure
  • Peptic ulcer/hemorrhage
  • Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency
  • Third trimester of pregnancy

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid use during first and second trimester of pregnancy
  • Contraindicated in third trimester
  • Not recommended in nursing mothers

Precautions & Warnings

  • Caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease
  • Carefully monitor renal function
  • Caution in patients with hypertension or congestive heart failure
  • Increased risk of atrial fibrillation
  • Possible hyperkalemia
  • Masking of infection signs

  • Elderly dosage adjustment
  • Careful monitoring in hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment dosage adjustment

Overdose Effects

  • Benign symptoms at lower doses
  • Gastric lavage recommended for massive overdosages
