Indications

Pharmacology
- Analgesic activity
- Anti-inflammatory activity

- Inhibition of prostaglandin synthetase

Dosage and administration
- Adult dosage: 500mg three times per day
- Reduced adult dosage: 250mg three times per day
- Menorrhagia dosage: 500mg three times per day
- Child dosage: varies by age
- Maximum treatment duration: 7 days
Interaction
- Concomitant administration with aspirin not generally recommended
- Potential to prolong prothrombin time in patients on warfarin therapy
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Mefenamic Acid
- Peptic ulcer
- Inflammatory bowel diseases
- Hepatic or renal impairment
- Symptoms of bronchospasm induced by aspirin/NSAIDs
