Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 500mg up to three times a day with meals
- Adult dosage for menorrhagia: 500mg three times a day with meals
- Children dosage: varies based on age, recommended maximum treatment duration is 7 days

Mode of Action
Contains Mefenamic Acid which is a nonsteroidal agent with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic activity due to its action on prostaglandins
Interaction
- Contraindicated with concomitant use of Aspirin due to potential increased adverse effects
- Can inhibit platelet aggregation and prolong prothrombin time in patients on Warfarin therapy

- Known hypersensitivity to Mefenamic Acid
- Peptic ulcer
- Inflammatory bowel diseases
- Hepatic or renal impairment
- Symptoms of bronchospasm or skin rashes induced by aspirin or other NSAIDs
Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal effects: abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea, GI ulcers, vomiting
- Dizziness
- Abnormal renal function
- Pruritus

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety not established for reproductive capacity and pregnancy
- Use in women of childbearing potential and during pregnancy only when benefits outweigh risks
- Avoid use during nursing due to potential transmission to the infant via breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Administer with caution in allergic diseases, especially asthma
- Monitor for and discontinue treatment in case of diarrhea, rashes, cholestatic jaundice, thrombocytopenia, or haemolytic anemia
